4. IP addresses and security

IP addresses may be used to investigate abuse, spam, account misuse, security incidents and violations of our rules. IP information is not publicly displayed.

Access to IP information is restricted to specifically authorised members of the xWorld team where access is required for security or moderation purposes.

5. Public forum content

Information you publish in public areas of the forum may be visible to other users or visitors depending on the permissions of the relevant forum area.

Please do not publish personal information that you do not wish to make public or personal information belonging to another person without an appropriate legal basis.

6. Direct messages

Direct messages are stored in order to provide the forum messaging functionality and are not publicly visible.

Access to message data is restricted and will only occur where technically necessary, legally required or otherwise justified for the investigation of serious abuse or security incidents.

7. Reports, complaints and moderation

If you submit a report, complaint, appeal or support request, we may process the information and evidence contained in that submission.

This may include usernames, account information, screenshots, video material, messages and other information necessary to investigate the matter and document moderation decisions.

8. Email communications

We may use your email address to send essential account and service communications such as:

  • Password reset messages.
  • Security notifications.
  • Forum activity notifications you have enabled.
  • Important service or community announcements where appropriate.

You can manage many optional email notifications through your forum preferences.

13. Account deletion

You may request deletion of your account and personal data where the applicable legal requirements are met.

Account deletion does not necessarily require removal of every contribution made to public discussions. Where appropriate, content may instead be anonymised.

14. Automated processing

Automated technical systems may be used to detect spam, abuse, suspicious activity or security threats.

We do not currently use solely automated decision-making that produces legal effects or similarly significantly affects users within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.

15. Keeping your data secure

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

16. Acceptance of this policy

When registering, you may be required to explicitly accept this Privacy Policy. Continued use of the forum is subject to the version of this policy applicable at that time.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, processing activities or legal requirements change.

Where appropriate, users may be required to review and accept an updated version.
